Clothes, Monga reveals, are often less mere garments than subsumed environments, domestic economies, anonymous lovers and judges, passing from body to body, moving with their owners, sometimes sinister mimics or co-conspirators, at other times material witnesses of grief, fear, desire and metamorphosis.

Gaurav Monga is the author of Tears for Rahul Dutta (Philistine Press, 2012), Family Matters (Eibonvale Press, 2019) and Ruins (Desirepaths Publishers, 2019). His work has appeared in diverse literary magazines, such as the Fanzine, Tammy Journal, Queen Mobs Teahouse, Juked, and BODY among others. He is originally from New Delhi, and teaches creative writing and German at schools and colleges.
